Showcasing Cornwall’s marine tech pioneers

For three years, Brand Innovation has provided brand marketing, PR and copywriting services to the Marine-i project. Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Marine-i was designed to help the marine technology sector in Cornwall grow through harnessing the full potential of research and innovation.

The six partner organisations in the Marine-i project are University of Exeter, University of Plymouth, Cornwall Development Company, Cornwall Marine Network, Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and Cornwall College Group/ Falmouth Marine School.

Professor Lars Johanning of University of Exeter says: “Marine-i has helped to transform marine technology innovation in Cornwall. The county now has the potential to play a pivotal role in the sustainable marine industries of the future and is becoming recognised as a world player in these important growth technologies.”

To publicise the project achievements and showcase the sector, Brand Innovation created a 36-page showcase brochure called Marine Tech Transformers. This included case studies and profiles of 75 of the businesses supported. Brand Innovation researched and wrote all the text for this brochure, briefed the design team, and sourced supporting imagery. The brochure was launched at a special industry event hosted by Marine-i and is now available in print and online.

Lisa Beverley-Jones, Marine-i Project Manager said: “A great job putting the publication together and really shows the diversity of businesses supported.

Matt Hodson, Marine Hub Operations Director for Cornwall Development Company commented: “Thanks for all your hard work on this – a fantastic piece of work!”
